The product is turned, forged, brushed with beeswax, and cooled. The resemblance to a helmet is not entirely coincidental. Giulio Iacchetti traded an old soldier's helmet, which served as a plant pot in a school, for a terracotta piece, and let the history of the old helmet sink in. The raw steel bowl departs from the utilitarian purpose of helmets in wartime and instead proposes a new function: containing the essentials of life, not the heads of soldiers.
