Kay Bojesen
Kay Bojesen (Copenhagen 1886-1958) was a Danish silversmith and designer. He began his career at Georg Jensen and became best known for his wooden animals, which were already on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in the fifties. His monkey from 1951 is world-famous. In 1931 he was one of the driving forces behind "den Permanente", a gallery/shop selling the very best of Danish design. In 1938 he won the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale with his cutlery, which later took the same name. It is regarded as the Danish national cutlery and is once again in production today, by his granddaughter.
