Erik Magnussen
Erik Magnussen, born in 1940 in Charlottenlund in Denmark, died in 2014.
Erik Magnussen trained in ceramics at the Arts and Crafts School in Copenhagen from 1956 to 1960. He subsequently worked with porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl, where he created everyday porcelain in simple geometric forms, including the stackable tableware Form 25 Termo from 1965. Magnussen also designed functional furniture, such as the Z-Stool folding chair for Torben Ørskov & Co and a series of school furniture. From 1976, Magnussen worked for Stelton A/S in Copenhagen. There he designed the well-known timeless one-litre thermos flask, which is still manufactured today. This thermos flask was originally intended as a complement to Arne Jacobsen's famous Cylindaline from 1967.
