Giulio Confalonieri
Guilio Confalonieri (Milan, 1926) was a designer and graphic artist, and one of the leading exponents of the “Swiss School” in Italy during the 1950s. Working across editorial, advertising and corporate graphics, his style was distinguished by strong visual impact and dynamic compositions built on the contrast between positive and negative elements. He helped shape the image of major companies and institutions. Among his many accolades are the gold medal at the 11th and 15th Milan Triennale and the Typomundus Diploma of Honour in New York, awarded “for an outstanding contribution to the development of 20th-century graphic art”. His work is held in several international art museums. He passed away in 2008.
