Peter Zumthor
Peter Zumthor was born in Basel in 1943.
He is one of the most interesting international architects of the 21st century. He studied at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel and at the Pratt Institute in New York.
He also renovated various listed buildings in Graubünden. He did all this before opening his own studio in 1979.
His best-known works include: the Sogn Benedetg Chapel in Somvitg (1988), the thermal baths in Vals (1996), the Kunsthaus in Bregenz (1997) and the Swiss Pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hannover.
