Shinichi Sumikawa
Born in Tokyo, Shinichi studied design at the Chiba University Industrial Design Department before joining Sony Corporation as a product designer, developing SONY products, such as the Walkman, radios, headphones and television sets. In 1992, he established Sumikawa Design in Tokyo, and has since, been designing communication tools, cars, medical equipment, sports gear, and other crafts. He is also currently Visiting Professor at Osaka University of Arts. A multi-awardee who is constantly selected in the Good Design Awards and has exhibited his works extensively in Germany, Canada, and across Japan, Shinichi is foremost an aluminium product designer. His designs always evoke qualities of elasticity, smoothness and ease of use with that anticipated gentle but firm grip and touch.

We offer free delivery within the Netherlands on orders over €65. Below this amount, a fixed contribution applies, which you'll see at checkout. For orders shipped abroad, separate rates apply; these are calculated at checkout once you enter your address. If an item differs from standard dimensions or weight, the delivery charge may be higher. We never apply this without checking first: we'll always contact you beforehand and only ship once you've given your approval.
Of course. Please do so as soon as possible. Feel free to call or email us. The item must of course be returned unused and in its original packaging. We do not offer approval shipments with free returns. We trust you'll understand.
Yes. We supply only genuine Alessi products, sourced directly through official channels. We have been a dedicated Alessi dealer since 1990. Every item arrives in its original Alessi packaging and carries the Alessi brand engraving.
Yes, we'd be happy to. Just let us know when placing your order and we'll gift wrap the item for you. .. Please note: if items may be wrapped together, such as baubles, do let us know as well. During busy periods this makes a considerable difference to processing times.
