Ettore Sottsass
Ettore Sottsass was born in 1917 in Innsbruck as the son of an architect. He was an important architect and designer. He graduated as an architect from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1939. He opened his own studio in Milan in 1947. For Olivetti he won his first Compasso D'Oro in 1959 for the computer mainframe Elea 9003. He would win three more, the last of which in 1989 for the cutlery "Nuova Milano", designed for Alessi. He gave the design world an enormous boost with the Memphis movement, in which numerous other grandmasters participated. He died in December 2007. We always keep a close eye on availability and expected delivery times.
We offer free delivery within the Netherlands on orders over €65. Below this amount, a fixed contribution applies, which you'll see at checkout. For orders shipped abroad, separate rates apply; these are calculated at checkout once you enter your address. If an item differs from standard dimensions or weight, the delivery charge may be higher. We never apply this without checking first: we'll always contact you beforehand and only ship once you've given your approval.
Of course. Please do so as soon as possible. Feel free to call or email us. The item must of course be returned unused and in its original packaging. We do not offer approval shipments with free returns. We trust you'll understand.
Yes. We supply only genuine Alessi products, sourced directly through official channels. We have been a dedicated Alessi dealer since 1990. Every item arrives in its original Alessi packaging and carries the Alessi brand engraving.
Yes, we'd be happy to. Just let us know when placing your order and we'll gift wrap the item for you. .. Please note: if items may be wrapped together, such as baubles, do let us know as well. During busy periods this makes a considerable difference to processing times.
